Community Department

Serving Beyond the Hospital Walls: Health & Development for Rural Empowerment

The Community Department is the heart of our hospital’s vision to create a healthier and more empowered rural Bihar. We believe that real change begins not just in hospital wards, but in the villages, homes, and lives of the people we serve.

Our department is structured around two key arms: Community Health and Community Development—working hand-in-hand to address both medical and social determinants of health.

Community Health Arm

Bringing Healthcare to the Grassroots

  • Village Health Camps for screening, early detection, and basic treatment
  • School Health Programs (eye/dental checkups, hygiene education)
  • Health Education & Awareness Drives on sanitation, hygiene, NCDs, addictions
  • Home visits for follow-up of chronic/bedridden patients, Palliative Care and disability support

Referral linkage to hospital services and higher centres when needed

Community Development Arm

Building Stronger Foundations for Healthier Lives

  • Women’s Empowerment through self-help groups, health literacy, and vocational training
  • Nutrition support programs for undernourished children and pregnant mothers
  • Livelihood initiatives in collaboration with local partners
  • Youth engagement through sports, skill-building, and leadership training
  • Advocacy for safe drinking water, clean cooking, and sanitation at the household level

Highlights:

  • Trained community health workers (CHWs) and volunteers as local change agents
  • Active collaboration with local panchayats, schools, and NGOs
  • Data-driven approach to identify and address local health and development needs
  • Focus on sustainable, community-owned solutions

•        Through this department, we reaffirm our mission: not just treating illness, but transforming lives—one family, one village at a time.
